

Paul Henry Lanphier, Jr was born on January 13, 1943 in Urbana, Illinois to the late Paul Henry Lanphier, Sr and Nellie Mae Rains Lanphier. Paul’s childhood unfolded across the globe, shaped by his father’s career as an Army officer. As a young boy, he lived in Okinawa, Japan. During his high school years, the family was based in France while Paul attended school in Germany. Along the way, they also called Oklahoma, Maryland, Hawaii, Illinois, and California home. Eventually, the family settled in Houston, where Paul graduated from University of Houston with a degree in Industrial Engineering.
During one summer in college, Paul interned with the phone company in Houston. After graduation, seeking a more agreeable climate, he moved to Denver and began his career with Mountain Telephone and Telegraph. He remained with the company through its many transformations, dedicating his career there until his retirement in 1990. He then started his own home repair business that kept him busy for many years.
Paul is remembered as a devoted husband, a kind brother, and a supportive father, always ready to lend a hand with home projects for his children. He loved traveling the world with Connie, sharing adventures near and far. Paul enjoyed spending time in his workshop, where he found satisfaction in building and fixing things. Paul adored his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sports games, concerts, and piano recitals. He was also well known among family and friends for his amazing pecan pie.
Paul is survived by his wife, Connie Maslow, son, Mark (Meghan) Lanphier, beloved stepchildren, Sean Maslow (Sara Cory), Shannon (Dave) Luedke, Aaron (Jessica) Maslow, Ryan Maslow (Liz Maslow), grandchildren William (Heidi) Luedke, Barry (Myanne) Wesley, Landon and Xander Maslow, Vinson, Lincoln, and Beau Maslow, Xavier and Elijah Maslow, and Effie Lanphier, one great-granddaughter, Lenai Wesley, sister Sharon (Chris) Knox, brother Randy Lanphier, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his older sister, Brenda (Bill) Eisel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, December 20 at Olinger Chapel Hill (6601 South Colorado Boulevard, Centennial, CO 80121) followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity in honor of Paul’s lifelong love of building and helping with projects.
