Phoebe was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on June 27th 1923. She left us on January 10th, 2011 in Lafayette, Colorado. Phoebe graduated from high school in 1940. Post graduation she became a clerk in an insurance agency and sang solo at weddings and funerals to earn extra money. She met her husband, Carl, after World War II in Oklahoma City, and they were married in Denver in 1947. They spent the rest of their lives together there. They had two sons, Carl and Brian Tharp. She is also survived by daughters in law Sheri Tonozzi and Julie Tharp; grandchildren Jason and Kyle, Kelly, Cisco, Justin and Erin, Adrian and April, and Sandie; great grandchildren Arlo, Maddie, Jessica, Shawna, Derek, Tyler, Morgan, Devvon, and Emily. Phoebe was a devoted member of the Harvey Park Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir and various church groups. She also worked as a secretary in the Denver Public School System for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, in 1983. Her loving family and church community will celebrate her life at Harvey Park Baptist Church on Thursday, January 13th.
