

Ray was born October 16, 1934 in Agate, Colorado to Cecil Blon and Mabel (Noah) Chapman. He graduated from Agate High School. On January 3, 1955 he married Reta Montgomery in Raton, New Mexico. Ray was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of Englewood. He loved to watch TV, gamble, fish, play cards, and was an excellent trap shooter. At the time he was the only person to have won the Denver Post Open (trap shooting) twice. Ray was happiest when he was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the joy of his life.
Ray is survived by his sons David (Coni) Chapman, Les Chapman, sisters Claire Flynn of Arkansas, and Betty Barnes of California; five grandchildren, Tyler (Lori) Chapman, Todd (Katie) Chapman, Tiffany (Nate) Christiansen, Mitchell Chapman and Chelsea Chapman; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Christiansen, Mia and Max Chapman, Mason and Kendall Chapman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mabel, his wife, Reta Chapman (Montgomery), his son, Robert Chapman, and his sister, Barbara Chapman.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial, CO. Burial and reception will follow at the same location. Visitation is available Monday, November 23, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Dave, Coni and Les would like to thank all our family and many friends for their prayers, love and support during this difficult time.
