

Rosalie graduated from Duke University with a nursing degree and worked early on as a travelling nurse in New York City. Rosalie married Harold Placet in 1959 and had four children named Mary Jane, Harold Joseph, James Christopher and John Andrew.
Her remaining career included raising her children, going back to school to obtain her masters in psychiatric nursing and becoming a college nursing professor. Rosalie and Hal retired to Florida at 55 years old and enjoyed many wonderful years of travel and fun in the sun before moving to Colorado in 2018 to live close to their daughter Mary Jane.
Rosalie was an avid reader, loved antiques and enjoyed shopping at garage sales with her friends when her children were young. She was a devout Catholic and always active with her church. Rosalie loved to cook and became known in her retirement community for making homemade bread and giving it to her friends and neighbors. Rosalie adored sweets throughout her entire life and believed that most meals should have a “Sweet Finish”
Rosalie’s living relatives include her daughter Mary Jane Jones and her grandchildren Melissa Placet, Emily Placet and Collin Jones. Rosalie’s deceased relatives include her sons Harold Joseph Placet, James Christopher Placet, John Andrew Placet, her mother Emily Sullivan, father Joseph Sullivan, sister Emily Jo Sullivan and brother Tom Sullivan.
Rosalie was a strong and intelligent woman that provided a lifetime of love, support and a listening ear to her family and friends. She was gifted with the ability to listen to people and help them in their most difficult times. Her warm smile and lifetime interest in teaching allowed her to help guide many. Anyone who had the opportunity to spend much time around her has been forever touched.
Her funeral service will take place on May 13th, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Centennial Colorado.
