

Ruth Ann Vanden Broeke(Slater), our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and grandmother returned home to our Heavenly Father peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on March 17th, 2017. Ruth was born on March 16th, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to Garrit and Laura Slater. She graduated from Denver Christian High School and received her LPN in nursing. She also held positions in Vectra and Key Bank, where she eventually retired. Ruth was a lifelong enthusiast for animals, family, and thrifting with her girlfriends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ron and Bob, and her sons Terry and Todd. She is survived by her loving husband Chris, their children Troy Vanden Broeke and wife Tania, Travis Vanden Broeke and his wife Jenni, daughter Jeanne Beaulieu and husband Dan and their grandchildren Reed and Brett Vanden Broeke, Aaron and Andrew Vanden Broeke, Zach and Maddie Vanden Broeke, and Christopher Holmes and Gabriella and Marina Beaulieu, Tim and Ryan Vanden Broeke, brother Rodger Slater and his wife and children, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Her Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church (1814 S. Emerson St) with lunch to follow. A family burial will be held at Chapel Hill Mortuary and Cemetery (6601 S. Colorado Blvd) on Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
Based on her love of animals and thrifting, the family appreciates, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Ruth’s name to ARC, First CRC, or The Denver Dumb Friends League.
