Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Silvia Adela de las Mercedes Mesa y Diaz was born on November 3, 1943 in La Habana, Cuba. She grew up as an only child and was forced to flee Cuba at the age of 17. She moved to the United States and settled in Denver, Colorado where she married Enrique Miranda on July 20, 1963.
True to her Cuban roots, Silvia enjoyed traditional cooking, music and dancing. She was extremely proud of her sons and grandchildren. Her beautiful life will be cherished in the lives of her husband Enrique of nearly 55 years; her son Charles, Carolyn Liptak and their two children Jonathan and Catherine; her son Richard, his wife Nicole and their two children Abigail and Victoria. She is preceded in death by her mother, Berta Diaz Cruz Mesa.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Silvia’s Life on Friday March 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial, Colorado 80121.
Silvia inspired each of us with her work ethic, strength, love and kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Dysautonomia International, the Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation or the Celiac Sprue Association.
