AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Walter "Don" Donald Blair

21 décembre 1935 – 1 avril 2026
Avis de décès de Walter "Don" Donald Blair
AUX SOINS DE

Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery - Chapel Hill

Walter Donald Blair, 90, passed away peacefully after suffering a fall and enduring two hospital visits that followed. Prior to his fall, his health was quite good, and though he experienced some memory loss in his later years, he remained happy, comfortable, and free of pain. He finished his life well cared for, in the loving company of his wife, Nida Moffitt, enjoying his Westerns and the familiar comforts of home.

Walter was a devoted husband and father, a hardworking man, and someone deeply respected by those who knew him. He was also a loyal and compassionate presence in the life of his former wife, Barbara Blair, and remained there for her up until her passing.

A major part of Walter's legacy was the work of his hands. He built Don Blair Excavating into one of the most successful excavating companies in Colorado, operating for many years from its location off Zuni. Through his work, he became a meaningful part of Denver's growth and development, contributing to countless projects that helped shape the city and state through decades of progress, challenge, and change. He was known as a hard worker, a respected businessman, and a man who helped build the bones of Colorado.

Outside of work, Walter loved his home in Sedalia and was a devoted fan of O'Brien's Cafe. He had a fondness for his classic guns, his Model A, and the kind of steady pleasures that made life feel rich and familiar. He enjoyed keeping bird feeders and feeding the animals around his home, taking pleasure in the life they brought to his surroundings. He also loved having his boat on the lakes, fishing, exploring, and enjoying the peace of the outdoors. Walter had a wonderful sense of humor and an immense knowledge of the world around him, which made time spent with him memorable to those who knew and loved him.

Walter is survived by his wife, Nida Moffitt, and his stepdaughter, Kesley Greyshine. He will be remembered as a man who worked hard, loved deeply, carried a wonderful sense of humor, shared his knowledge generously, and left his mark on both the land and the people around him.
