Walter “Wally” William Howell
Wally was born one of six children on 8/30/1923 to Fred and Mary (Hadorn) Howell of Frankfort, KS.  He grew up on the family dairy farm but soon after his high school graduation moved to California where he joined the Army.  He served as an ambulance driver on base as a Sergeant Tech 4, and was honorably discharged on April 26, 1946. 
During that time he met and married his sweetheart, Pauline Beer, moved to Denver and shared 66 years of marriage.  He sold stationary, life insurance for New York Life, and eventually became the owner of a State Farm agency until his retirement in 1990. 
Wally had a number of horses most notably Blaze and Dolly, the horses of his children Dennis and Paulette. He was also a member of the Adams County Sheriff’s Posse and served as captain. 
His many pleasures included horses, camping, and RV trips with Paulie. Faith and family were his priority and he was an inspiration and greatly loved by many. 
His wife Paulie preceded him in death. He is survived by his son Dennis and wife Debbie, of Aurora, CO , granddaughter Tiffany and husband Kyle of Greeley, CO,  great grandchildren  Connor, Asher, and Everett. And his daughter Paulette (Howell) Thero, her husband Ed of Ft. Collins, CO,  granddaughter April and husband Craig Burns of Highlands Ranch, CO,  granddaughter Katie and  husband Brandon Nelson of Timnath, CO,  and great grandchildren Peyton, Aiden and Paisley.

Better known to me as "Wally Baby"  
Wally was an added bonus in my life going back to 1964. 
In God's providence, Wally enrolled his kids....Dennis and Paulette into St. Patrick's Grade school.
Dennis and Paulette became lifelong friends....in those early growing up years.
Wally was such an involved Dad, and it spilled over into my life...
As Dennis and I moved into the HS years, Wally was ever vigilant and more than willing to teach us that life is hard and bad decisions have consequences....early mornings after partying all night...I think Wally's favorite pastime for us was digging post-holes.  Although there was another "wake-up" call that involved bailing hay.
Wally was old school...a part of the greatest generation...I still remember how proud he was to serve with the Adams County Posse Patrol and his passion for horses....and his other two kids, Blaze and Dolly.
My life was enriched by this good and godly man. 
Wally passionately loved his bride "Paulie,"  I observed in the early days from him how to treat women and how to treasure your wife.
Wally's legacy will forever remain in the lives of Dennis and Debbie....Tiffany and Kyle.....Connor, Asher and Everett. 
Paulette and Ed....April and Craig...Katie and Brandon....Peyton, Aiden and Paisley.
Wally....well done good and faithful servant.
Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of His Saints.
Wally, thanks for being a guiding light, our compass, our true North....we will miss you, but we will remember all you taught us.
