William Stewart Lindsey (Stewy) passed away on July 11th in his home in Lakewood, Co. in the Village at Belmar with the hospice nurse attending to his comfort and his family by his side. Stewy was 84 years old.
Stewy was born in Fargo, N.D. and spent his early years in Fargo, before his family moved to Grafton, N.D. where he graduated from High School. He worked for the Walsh County Record as a print setter. He met his future bride in 1960 and in 1961 he married Louise Christopherson from Milton, N.D. They had two Sons, Todd Stewart Lindsey was born in Grafton in 1961 and when he was 8 months old the family moved to Englewood,Colorado. Their 2nd son, Terry Wayne Lindsey was born in 1963.
Stewy worked as a construction laborer in many capacities. He worked in tunnels, he drilled rock and blasted the sides of mountains off to make room for I70, as well as working on hospitals and schools. In 1966-67 he worked in Viet Nam building an airbase. He retired in 1998.
He and his family enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and road trips to family reunions. In his later years he and Louise did a lot of camping in their 5th wheel as well as cruising the Caribbean .
Stewy is preceded in death by his parents, W. Stewart and Mildred Lindsey. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Louise, and Sons, Todd (Gina) and Wayne ,(Heather) , six grandchildren, Kassy, Jesse, Jenna, Tessa, Micah and Avery as well as his sister, Loree Ebertowski (DuWayne) and a brother, Mark Lindsey and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
