“Wilma” Cady of Clermont Park Christian Living Center, Denver, Colorado, passed away October 2nd 2014 just six weeks before her 90th birthday. Wilhelmina, a lifelong resident of Denver, was born November 17, 1924 to Daniel and Johanna Van Schooneveld, the third of four children. She graduated from the Denver Christian Schools and from South High School. In February 1944 Wilma married Bill (Wilifred) Cady originally from Harrison, South Dakota.
Wilma and Bill were the proud and dedicated parents of six children: Wayne (Susan), David (Paige), Dolores (Steven) Hageman, Glenda (Warren) Brandsma, Shirley (Robert) Rosendale, and Donald (Cheryl). In addition to her six children, she was grandmother to 16 and great grandmother to 22. Wilma is survived by her older brother Bill Van Schooneveld and her younger sister Alice (Van Schooneveld) Hogan.
A busy homemaker, Wilma also was an integral part of the family business, the Bill Cady Plumbing Company, performing many office functions. She and Bill were both actively involved in the Denver Christian Schools and in various Christian Reformed local churches. Wilma’s quiet spirit, wonderful smile, and deep faith embraced young and old, friend and stranger. She enjoyed family get-togethers, attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, knitting and crochet work, baking, and especially trips to the Colorado mountains. She will be so greatly missed.
Memorial contributions in Wilma Cady’s name may be made to CLC Clermont Park.
