From a young age, Harold helped his parents with their family business, Deming Gardens, where they sold Christmas trees to the community for many years. He dedicated much of his life to continuing that tradition and took great pride in the work he did. Harold also proudly served in the United States Navy for several years, an experience that meant a great deal to him. He carried that same sense of dedication and discipline throughout his life.
Over the years, Harold worked in fishing and alongside his friend Ted at Ted’s Bait and Tackle. Later, he moved to California, where he worked in refrigeration and heating. Upon returning home to Connecticut, Harold drove for 9 Town Transit, continuing his commitment to serving others. No matter the job, Harold truly loved what he was doing and found purpose in hard work and being part of his community.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Deming; his daughter, Cheyanne Deming Cephas; and his cherished granddaughters, Zyleana Cephas and Kiyanna Cephas.
He was a wonderful friend, a devoted brother, a loving father, and a proud Papa. Harold’s kindness, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family will be remembered always. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
