Rose C Papuzynski

Rose C Papuzynski, 97 yrs, born in Bayonne, NJ; grew up in South Hempstead, Long Island, NY with her parents Victoria and Felix Cichon and brothers Zygmunt and Henry. Rose left her job as a secretary to marry an Air Force fighter pilot, Leonard W Papuzynski and raised three daughters, Beverly, Lorraine and Diane. She endured all her husband’s deployments and missions while placing her three daughters first. Proficient in Polish and English. Rose translated hundreds of Polish letters during her lifetime for family and friends. She was an avid seamstress, writer and book lover. Being a devoted, practicing Catholic, she attended daily Mass, weekly Adoration, prayed the rosary and had a deep devotion to Our Lady, being a Professed Third Order of Mary. Cherished, beautiful Mother of 3, Grandmother of 7 and Great Grandmother of 10, she was beautiful inside and out; a gracious, humble, gentle lady, with complete trust in God. Rose showed us how to love and gave of herself to others. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 5th at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street in Essex. Burial will be held in the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York on Tuesday, June 6th at 1:00PM. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Rose C. Papuzynski to the Catholic School, University or Institution of your choice.
