Violante Roberto

Violante Roberto, age 90, of Ivoryton passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. She was predeceased in 2019 by her husband, Orazio. She was born on July 23, 1935 in Gesualdo, Italy, the daughter of Angelo and Giovanna (Cogliano) Ranaudo. Violante and Orazio were married on June 9, 1957 at Saint Nicholas Church in Gesualdo and enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. They came to the United States in 1966 and settled in Ivoryton soon thereafter. She was a communicant at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Essex. She worked for many years at Verplex, Knothe Brothers, and Cramer Corporation. She loved to cook, garden, and sew. Most of all, she loved to care for her grandchildren. She leaves her sons and their wives, Antonio (Margaret) Roberto of Essex and Michael (Kristin) Roberto of Holliston, Massachusetts. She adored her grandchildren and their spouses Nick (Maura), Grace (Jason), Katherine, Celia, and Luke. She also leaves her beautiful great-granddaughter, Oona, her sister, Carmela Forgione of Switzerland, many nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones. She was predeceased by her siblings Arcangelo, Giuseppe, and Gerardo. Her Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street in Essex. Interment will follow in the Centerbrook Cemetery, Westbrook Road in Centerbrook.
