Alice was raised by her beloved parents in Oyster Bay, New York, and later moved to Smithtown, where she attended Smithtown High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Andrew Kostas Jr. Alice and Andrew grew up together and shared more than 63 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories. Together, they raised two beautiful children and created a family they deeply treasured. Alice completed vocational school and became a lab technician at Smithtown General Hospital, a long career that reflected her dedication and compassion. She worked for many years at Dr. Tala’s office in Centereach, where she was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and caring nature.
In her free time, Alice found peace and joy at West Meadow Beach, where she loved to sit with a coffee, relax, and take in the beautiful views. She also loved traveling—from taking road trips shared with her daughter, son, and mother, to trips with her husband all over the country and exploring Italy and Paris later in life…making lasting memories. With her husband, Alice enjoyed traveling to watch him play baseball and taking vacations together, especially Las Vegas.
Family was at the center of Alice’s life. She loved decorating the house for the holidays, watching baking and cooking shows with her daughter Alison, cheering on her son Andy at motocross races, and watching the New York Yankees play alongside her husband. Alice had a passion for baking and was especially known for her famous Christmas cookie tins, lovingly shared with family and friends. During the summer months, she could often be found enjoying breakfast on the deck, savoring the simple moments.
Alice had many interests and passions. She loved filling her planter boxes with flowers, jazz and classic 1950s music, Elvis Presley, rosé and wine, completing crossword puzzles, and had recently discovered a love for watercolor painting. She also enjoyed watching period drama television shows that transported her to different eras. Alice was a proud member of the French Club, where she learned to speak French and formed new friendships.
Alice will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Andrew Kostas Jr.; her loving children, Alison Kostas and Andrew Kostas III; and her cherished pet, Mickey. She was predeceased by her parents.
