I am pretty sure this is the same Artie Mikoleski who I dealt with as proprietor of Beacon Paint & Hardware. The Artie I knew worked as director of engineering at several Manhattan hotels. He was always loyal and friendly to me, and I greatly appreciated his kindness. My condolences to the family.
(Condolences anyhow if I somehow have the wrong Artie.)

The world is crazy the way people come together and become friends on a train. I met Artie as part of the 4:51 train group while i was in college. He wouldn’t let a ride pass without making you laugh, whether it was at your expense or someone else’s.  I’m glad to have shared the time we did together!

I met Artie on my second day commuting into the city for work. I made the “mistake” of sitting in a 6 seater all by myself. Within minutes I was surrounded my a group of chatty people, Artie being one of them. I looked forward to our commute into the city listening to Artie read the paper or sharing a drink on the ride home.  Artie was always there for a serious chat or to make you laugh. Rest In Peace buddy. Miss you 💙

My partner .... I’m going miss you so much..You made coming to work every day easy and fun.. I wonder who is going keep my crazy from coming out now..
I remember the days when I would trick you that you were in trouble only to watch you stress out ..when  you found out the truth you would curse me out, we would laugh about it afterwards ..

Rest In Peace, my friend. We had the best train rides ever! You won’t be forgotten. 

I met Arthur on the long commute into the city.
I remember hearing loud voices in the back of the train and I began listening. That was it, I was hooked! 
The long train ride was no longer long or boring. 
We would see each other 5 days a week for 5 years, we would party, go to dinners and just talk for hours!
I can still hear him saying, “ Did somebody pee in your Cheerios?”
He was always so funny, caring and loving.
My friend, you will be missed! You were taken from us too soon! I will never forget the good times on the 451. ❤️

I will never forget sitting in Artie's office going through cameras because I knew that things were not the way there were supposed to be.  I will never forget going to the courts with a ridiculous amounts of cash in our hands to pay all the outstanding violations for the property before the sale happened.  I remember the certain items showing up on my desk unexpectedly (will not mention what it was).   And most of all, I remember the infectious laughter and ability to listen!

You will surely be missed!!!!

My dear friend, Artie, was the one of the first person I met when I started commuting for my work into the city, some 20 years ago. In the beginning,   I was a bit intimidated by him. But as I got to know him,  I could not help but get drawn to him because of his infectious laugh, his love for family and friends, and his zest for life. As part of the 451 train family group, he also became part of  'My' family. He has left an indelible mark in my life and has made my life richer . Commuting into the city would have been so mundane without him. He  was always willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat. You have touched many people's lives, me for one, and I  will always be grateful . My heart aches so much and I will  miss you my friend.  Make your mark up there. Until we meet again❤

When I was a little boy, I thought Arthur was my uncle, because Michelle always called him Uncle Arthur. In actuality he was my mother's cousin.  He was around a lot when I was a boy, and to my mind he and Eddie were about the two coolest people I could think of.  Arthur was very much a role model for me in my youth.  He was loud and boisterous, and the  life of every family party...especially the 4th of July.  He would always bring tons of fireworks and make it a great show for everyone.  When I was about 11  or 12 he brought over a huge American flag for the party and hung it on the front of my parents house...it was tremendous and covered pretty much the whole front of the house.  I can remember the same flag being draped over his house when he started hosting the 4th over at Taj Court.  

When I was a young adult in the 90's I worked for Arthur occasionally, he literally taught me how to swing a hammer.  I was such a blunder-boy, and he was so very patient with me.  

Arthur Joseph Mikoleski, I will miss you so much.  Please watch over us until we meet again.


Artie was always so much fun to be around, always ready to make us laugh sometimes  unintentionally.  One of the funniest was during a party at my house, Artie was telling us about his fire safety certification.  Of course we had been drinking for a while.  Artie decided to get the fire going 🔥 hotter with gas.  As he poured gas on to the fire the flames began to climb the stream back toward him.  Artie panicked and jerked the container away causing burning gas to pour onto and under my deck.   He tried to step it out and his pants caught on fire 🔥.  He ran over to the grass screaming (and laughing) and patting his pants out.  We got the hose and quickly extinguished the deck and the ground below.  No real damage done but a lot of laughter and more drinking.  
We'll  all miss you Artie!!!!
