Catherine F. Gannon

Catherine E. Gannon of Centereach, New York passed away on February 21, 2012. Beloved wife of the late James. Catherine and James were married on January 25, 1948, and moved to Centereach in 1955. Catherine and James were very instrumental in the founding of and fundraising for the Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church. One of the beautiful stained glass windows in the church was donated by them. She taught CCD in her home for many years and worked at Macy’s for over 20 years. Catherine received The Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Medal for her dedication to the catholic youth, helping to develop their spiritual lives. Her faith was a very important part of her life. Catherine is survived by her children, son James and his wife Susan, son Thomas and daughter Mary Kay. She is the cherished grandmother of Keith, Thomas, Kimberly, and James. Catherine will be reposing at the O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 2326 Middle Country Rd., Centereach on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Mass will be Monday at 9:45 A.M. at the Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church and her interment will follow at Holy Sepluchre Cemetery, Coram.
