Our Miss Mary has been a member of our family for well over 30 years. Over the years she nurtured our children and grandchildren with love, generosity, and kindness. She held our hands, walked beside us and gave us solace during our own parents struggles at the end of their lives. She fed us, baked for us, taught us and prayed for us. She has been our dearest friend. She never failed to be there when we looked out of our window; our view will never be the same. She will be missed more than our words can express.  My greatest hope is that when God calls me home she will meet me at the gate with a cozy crocheted blanket and warm loaf of Irish soda bread of course with no seeds. Forever in our hearts she will stay and thank you Sean, Robert, Margaret, Charlotte, and Genevieve for sharing her with us. Xxoo

I first met Mary when she picked Sean up from my home.  Sean and my son John were friends and altar servers.  John introduced Sean to me and told me Sean's desire for the priesthood.
I would drive Sean to seminary activities and soon I spent time with Mary and Bob.  Soon we went to masses and we're regulars in seminary, and finally ordination.  Mary became the sister that I never had, and shared her son's priesthood with me.  I will never forget her thoughtfulness and kindness.  When we moved upstate she always kept in touch to ask about our health.  I could always count on Mary for prayers!

Heaven gained another Beautiful Angel, Mary was such a dedicated Mom, Grandma and Friend ❤️ She was very Strong, Faithful, Kind, Generous and the list is endless! She was there to support anyone who needed her and Always willing to and wanted to help in anyway she could! Mary was very Prideful and had such a huge caring heart ❤️ You can see the kind of Woman and Mother she was by knowing her children! I will miss our phone calls and texts, I am a better person due to our friendship ❤️ Love You and I always told her how Thankful I was that she created such a beautiful daughter ( Margaret) and I will eternally be Grateful to have Margaret in my life! What a Blessing she is and I know Mary will watch over her family and friends and bestow upon them the Strength that she was Always known for ❤️🙏🏻

I first met Mary in the fall of 1965. Her home in Kings Park  provided  a frequent respite for her brother Peter and me throughout our years commuting to St. John’s University.  Mary was the mother of two beautiful little children then, Margie and Sean,  yet her door was always open to us day and night.  Always gracious, kind and caring, Mary offered a helping hand in any way should could.  She was a strong and prideful woman who will always be remembered for her support and love of family. May the angels carry you into paradise. RIP Mary.

Mu condolences to the Gann family.  I knew  Fr. Sean  from high school but really got to know Mary when we worked together at the Long Island Savings Bank. She took me under her wing and treated me like a daughter.   Being 20 years old I had a huge crush on a co-worker and drove Mary crazy talking about him. One day Mary had had enough and called me over to her desk where the "crush" was standing.  She said  "Jack" (his name was John, no one called him Jack but Mary) this is Julia, you two are having lunch today! I wanted to die but somehow  "Jack" couldn't say no to Mary so off we went! Mary was kind, fun loving, and just a wonderful person all around. The world will be a lesser place without her. My prayers to the Gann family as they grieve this tremendous loss . - Julia Wilson

Mary treated my children and I like her own family. I will forever be grateful for that. Heaven has gained one of the most special angels ❤️

Mary or Mare as we called her was the most special person to our family. She was always there to get me through the good and bad times. I will miss our daily phone calls. I will continue to make her rice pudding recipe and crochet just like she taught me. She will forever be in my heart ❤️
