Bobby Gene Dunaway

Bobby Gene Dunaway, age 73, native of McComb, Mississippi and resident of Central, LA passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Bobby was born June 19, 1948. He graduated High School in 1968 and went on to join the United States Navy. He served 4 years including a tour in Vietnam. Bobby also known as "Pops" had so much love for his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included gardening, being outside with his water hose, and was known for painting at random times. Pops was a one of a kind and we will miss his fun loving personality and smile.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Linda Morris Dunaway; son, John Carlisle; daughters, Toni Reidy (David), Jessica Hawkins (Matthew); sisters, Mary Goforth, Carol Campbell, Theresa Schaaf (Troy); 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Dunaway; daughter, Theresa Dixon and one grandson, Jonathan Dixon.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Central Funeral Home 9995 Hooper Rd from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM with the funeral service beginning at 12:30 PM. The interment will immediately follow at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary.

The family would like to thank the Emergency Response Team who attend to Mr. Bobby prior to being hospitalized.
