Gordon McDaniel Jr.

Gordon McDaniel, Jr was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and known as Bro Mac to many friends. Gordon and Juanita were married for 67 years. God blessed them with three children: Nancy Annette, Gordon Stephen, and Rebecca Ruth. God called him to preach the Word when he was a young man. He lived his life from that time on guided by the Holy Spirit. In obedience to this call he ministered the gospel in Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri. As he lay in his bed, he would ask the Lord to “please take me home I am ready”. ARE YOU?

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path. Proverbs 3:6

PallBearers will be: James Alexander, JD Gardner, Jeff Hatcher, Gordon Lee Wilkinson, Paul Williams and Ernie Meche.

Honorary PallBearers will be: Louis Robertson, Willie Kennedy, Ronnie Joe Causey, Marvin Holland, Herman Middleton, and Jimmie Robertson.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gordon’s life at Olive Branch Baptist Church, 1302 LA-67, Slaughter, LA 70777 on Friday, 1/31/25 at 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Feliciana Rest Cemetery, Hokaday Rd, Slaughter, LA 70777

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Hospice of Light in Ocean Springs MS for the care and support over the past year and a half. We would like to give a special thanks to his primary nurse, Donna Barnes, who has become part of our extended family. The love and compassion she and all Hospice professionals have given to our entire family will always be cherished and never forgotten. Thank you.
