Marybeth Eva Mauroner was born in Pass Christian, Mississippi, on September 16, 1934. Her parents, James Mitchell Aborn and Mary Ford Aborn moved frequently and Marybeth, an only child, often found herself alone. It was then that she learned to use that beautiful smile and warm heart to make a friend wherever she went. For Marybeth, this was the beginning of a life filled with beautiful friendships and experiences.
A true southern belle, Marybeth loved beautiful things. So, naturally, she married the beautiful J.B. Mauroner in 1953. They had two beautiful daughters, Jana and Dara, and together they had a beautiful life.
Maybeth very much valued serving others and found herself involved in many service organizations thru the years. Lioness, PEO, Women’s Hospital volunteer, ESL instructor, Women Making a Difference and First Methodist Flower Ministry, to name a few. She even served as House mother for the local Kappa Sigma Fraternity at LSU.
Shortly before her passing, she dreamt that her beloved J.B. was waiting for her in a field of flowers. How could she resist? So on the evening of December 14th she peacefully left this world to dance with J.B. in eternity. We find such peace and comfort knowing that she is finally in the arms of her true love again.
Those of us left here to celebrate her colorful life and live out the lessons she has taught us are…Jana Poche(Sheldon), Dara Jett (Jerry), Grandchildren, Mandy Catanzaro (Philip), Mitch Poche (Jamie), Kirby Jett and Daran Jett. Great grandchildren Caden, Luca and Micah Catanzaro, Alexis, Adele and Izzy Poche and Kennedy Jett.
In the words of her dear friend…” Marybeth was best known for her hospitality, of course. She has widened my understanding of “family first”, she is always beautiful, always aware of others needs and feelings, but always clear eyed, with the ability to see thru to the truth.
Rest in eternal peace Bram, we will love you forever and never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends Saturday at Broadmoor United Methodist Church from 9:30-11. Service at 11:00. Interment immediately following at Greenoaks Memorial Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Baton Rouge, whom we could not have navigated this journey without.
