Rita Mae Klumpp Johnson, a loving mother and grandmother passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 23, 2021, after a lengthy illness. She was known and loved by many because she spread love and happiness everywhere she went. Her hobbies included sewing and quilting and making new friends while accompanying her husband as he worked on pipeline jobs. She was a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church congregation where she was involved with WMU, Sweet Hour of Prayer, Faith Sunday School Class, Ladies Prayer Group, and Faithful Warrior. She selflessly and tirelessly gave of her time and talents to anyone in need. Most important to her, though, were her relationships with God and her family. Her absence on Earth will be profoundly felt by her sons Troy (Michelle) Johnson, Todd (Marie) Johnson, Tony (Kayla) Johnson, and Chad Johnson; daughter Christy (Joel) Atkinson; grandchildren Luke Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Trista Johnson, Tanner Johnson, Tracen Johnson, Isaac Atkinson, Gavin Atkinson, Miles Atkinson, Clayton Johnson, Payton Johnson, Dayton Johnson, and Naython Johnson; great-granddaughter Lakelynn Johnson; mother-in-law Rita L. Johnson; siblings Gerald Klumpp, Barbara Richard, Michael Klumpp, Walter Klumpp, Jr., Ricky Klumpp, and Bobby Klumpp; and a bonus daughter Tina Daigle. She was preceded in her Heavenly journey by her parents Walter and Mary Klumpp, husband Ronald D. Johnson, and son Ted Johnson. Visitation will be held at Central Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Rd., Central, LA 70818, on Wednesday, December 29, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Visitation will continue at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 22834 Liberty Rd., Zachary, LA 70791, on Thursday, December 30, from 10 A.M. until 12 noon. Services will immediately follow. Her grandsons who will be carrying her to her final resting place are Luke Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Isaac Atkinson, Ethan Johnson, Payton Johnson, and Dayton Johnson.
