

She was born to William Henry and Louise Chappell on May 2, 1930 in Bucoda, Washington. She raised her children in Rochester and then moved to Centralia in the late 1980's. The last six years she has lived in Chehalis at Ashley's Elder Care, where she made several close friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest H. Music of 31 years; two daughters, Ann M. (Davidson) Wallace and Melody R. Music; two sons-in-law, Merlin "Dave" Davidson and Beldon "Wally" Wallace; daughter-in-law, Peggy M. Music; her foster/adopted sons, Jim and Jerry Gonzalez; a newborn grandson, Harold J. Music, Jr.; mother, Louise M. E. (Shultz) Chappell died 1932; father, William H. Chappell; stepmother, Olga (Gish) Chappell; two stepbrothers, Dick and Bill; half-sister, Lorna; three half-brothers, Bob, Elmer, Jerry; and sister-in-law, Joanne.
She is survived by her sons, Harold J. (Linda) Music of Chehalis, Ernest R. Music of Puyallup, Don W. Music of
Rochester; daughters, Sarah L. (Ken) Robinette of Winlock and Laura L. Music of Chehalis; along with 30 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, William (Marie Music) Chappell of Chehalis, Harvey E. (Dianne) Chappell of Centralia, Edgar A. (Chris) Chappell of Toledo and Beverly J. (Sparky) Wilmoth of Fort Gipson, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Betty had many hobbies over the years. She always had a garden and did her own canning. Betty loved to crotchet. She also liked playing dice, bingo, pinochle and reading. She loved to sing and do karaoke along with writing her own songs, playing darts and going dancing were great pastimes. She was an avid collector of many items. In the later years, Betty helped to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren became her most cherished memories.
After the passing of her husband in 1982, Betty’s brother, Harvey and sister-in-law, Joanne, convinced her to join the Moose Lodge. Up until just before her stroke in 2006 she was a very active member and created many meaningful and lifelong friendships.
There will be a potluck celebration of life from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Moose Lodge in Centralia. Please bring your favorite dish and memory to share while we celebrate Betty’s life.
Memorial donations may be made to help pay for funeral expenses and head stone.
