Elizabeth Ellis

Betsy was born and raised in Bardstown, KY. She lived in Marion, AL since 1968.

One of her greatest joys was being the organist for Siloam Baptist Church since the early 1980’s. She loved sharing her amazing musical talent in many ways, such as teaching piano lessons, playing for the local nursing home, and playing for numerous weddings and funerals over the years.

Betsy was preceded in death by her parents,James Robert Scobee and Edith Adams Scobee; her husband of 57 years, Arthur Lewis Ellis; and brother James Stephen Scobee.

Survivors include her sister, Emma May Robinson of Cox’s Creek, Ky; two children; Christopher Dale (Carol) Ellis of Newnan, GA; Angela Ellis (Dale) Blocker of Helena, AL; three grandchildren; Natalie Elizabeth Blocker, Christopher Dylan Ellis, and Matthew Cambron Blocker; and extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Betsy will be Monday, February 2nd at Siloam Baptist Church with Pastor John Nicholson officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 with funeral immediately following. Committal Service will be at 2:30 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Al.

Rockco Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of arrangements.
