Tootie loved the Lord and witnessed to many people. She drove the Bibb county school bus for 25 years and played softball with family and friends. She was an extraordinary athlete. Tootie was very competitive in whatever she put her mind to. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved her husband of 32 years.
Tootie is survived by her husband, Ronnie Alexander; children, Kayla Tucker Cooner (Barry), Tamey Tucker Briscoe (Chuck), Meloney Tucker Miles, and Jeanie Harrison (Michael); step-children, Greg Alexander and Rodney Alexander (Heather); grandchildren, Kassie Stewart, Coty Stewart, Brooks Cooner, Kamey Bracknell, Kannon Johnston, Kyle Johnston, Jay Lagrone, Ashley Shirley, Latosha Underwood, Marena Stephens, Trey Miles, Andrew Miles, Will Harrison, and Brady Harrison; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Lou Waldrop; brothers, J.C. Smitherman and John Henry Smitherman.
Services for Ida was held Monday, September 19, 2022 at Six Mile Baptist Church. Graveside followed in the adjoining cemetery.
