He will be remembered for many things including his love for his family, his ’67 GTO, his love for country music, singing, and playing his guitars. He was a talented craftsman and had a knack for mechanics too. He will be admired and truly missed by many.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Beth Jones and his wife, Sherry A. Jones.
Jimmy is survived by his son, Shawn Jones (Leigh Ann); daughters, Amanda Phillips (Dusty) and Tara Ballard; stepson, Doug Roberts (Michelle); grandchildren, Tristyn Jones, James Moore, Houston Jones, Gray Phillips and Rowdy Ballard; his brothers, Jesse Jones and Jeff Jones; sisters, Deborah Rose, Brenda Carter (Ken), and Sheila Johnson (Donny) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Shawn Jones, James Moore, Houston Jones, Gray Phillips, Stacy Fondren, Brandon Sims, and Rowdy Ballard.
Honorary Pallbearers are Shay Cherry and Staff of Hale County Hospital, Sheree Morgan, Sonja Lazovic and members of Horseshoe Farms, and Southern Care New Beacon Hospice
A graveside service for James will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, in Sprott, Alabama with Pastor Arthur Thomas officiating.
