

Johnny loved his Cahaba River. He was the Cahaba's unofficial, yet highly prized, custodian and watchdog, fishing it daily for catfish, drum and bass, and picking up the trash others left behind. He served his country in the Armed Forces in the 1960's and later became a coal miner and retired after 23 years. After retirement, he worked for the city of West Blocton before his final retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Coleman and Lillian Snow West; brother, Truman Thomas Allen.
He is survived by his daughter, Lou Belcher (Tommy); son, Johnny Dale West (Jacki); brother, Jimmie Coleman West; grandchildren, Brandon Jarryd Seagle, Jonathan Andrew West, Branden Dale West, Ashley Breanna West-Smith (Brent); great-grandchildren, James Stetson Smith, Johnathon Samuel Smith; and his beloved cat, Shad.
A visitation will be held at Rockco Funeral Home in Centreville, Al on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 12 -1 pm. A funeral service honoring the life of Johnny "Willie Nelson" will follow at 1pm. Burial will be at Kinard. Rev. Thomas Belcher III officiating.
Johnny was a simple man so please feel free to come casual at the family's request.
Pallbearers are Neal Gardner, Steve Johnson, Mike Belcher, Brent Smith, Raymond Tyson, and Eric Tyson.
