Mr. McElroy entered into rest at Shelby Ridge in Alabaster. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patsy Slaton McElroy; son, Tracy McElroy(Becky); daughters, Justine Lamarque(Jeff) and Deanna Brock(Beau); grandchildren, Valerie Lamarque, Hannah Downs, Katie McElroy and Chase Brock. He is preceded in death by his parents, Seth and Mary McElroy; grandchild, Jacob Lamarque; brothers, Seth McElroy, Jr., Charles Lafayette "Fate" McElroy; sisters, Ortha Mae Oglesby Watkins, Lillie Green and Betty Tucker. He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Slidell, LA and a member of the National Truckers Hall of Fame.
