Al was born and raised in Chalmette, Louisiana and graduated from Chalmette High School Class of 1961. He went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965.
After his service, Al became one of the familiar faces of the community as the owner of Al’s Pizza. He took pride in serving others and was an active member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, where he served faithfully as an usher for many years. His faith extended further through his long membership in the Knights of Columbus, Rummel Council 5747.
Outside of work and church, he enjoyed flying seaplanes, had a deep love for antique cars and gave out gold dollars.
He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held for Al on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CATHOLIC CHURCH in Chalmette, followed by a funeral mass at noon. He will be laid to eternal rest at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens immediately after Mass. A celebration of Al’s life will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2107 Paris Road, Chalmette. In lieu of flowers, please consider having Masses said in Al’s memory.
