Audrey Schmidt Maracich

Audrey Schmidt Maracich, age 78, of Slidell, Louisiana passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021. Audrey was born on February 11, 1943 in New Orleans, LA to the late William Schmidt and Edith Oubre Schmidt. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, William Schmidt Sr. and Myrna Schmidt as well as her Brother-in-laws, Bobby Carey and Marty Bernheim and her nephews William Schmidt Jr. and Bobby Carey Jr.

Audrey was the devoted wife of John Maracich. Proud mother of John Maracich III (Tiffany) and devoted grandmother of Orion Carter and Maxwell Maracich as well as her Great-granchild, Wesley Carter. Audrey also leaves behind her Sister-in-law , Susan Carey, loving companion of the late Marty Bernheim. Audrey was the loving Aunt to nieces, Katherine Fradella (David), Suzanne Cognevich and Danielle Carey (Mike Smith). She was the Great-Aunt of Judy Rockwell (Norman), Sara Felt (Dan), Rachel Carew (Ashley), Kyle Cognevich and Katherine Cognevich as well as the Great-great Aunt to nieces Athena, Elena and Maggie. A retired career school teacher, Audrey had many lasting friendships with teachers, administrators and students.

A visitation for Audrey will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 10 AM until 11 AM at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St. Chalmette, LA 70043, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 AM at St. Bernard Mem. Funeral Home Chapel. The family has chosen a private burial to take place at a later date.
