

Billie Bourg Roman, born November 27, 1934, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025 at the age of 90 in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born in New Orleans and lived most of her life in Chalmette, relocating to Baton Rouge after Hurricane Katrina. She was the daughter of the late Sylvester T. Bourg and the late Cecile Lods Bourg. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joseph C. Roman, Jr. She was the mother of Patricia R. Earhart (Bobby), Joseph C. Roman, III (Judy), Pamela R. Mascari (Brian) and the late Bradley J. Roman; grandmother of Chris Earhart (Daynell), Alana E. Barnett-Woods (Chris), Vincent Roman (Kayla), Gerard Roman (Alyssa), and Katherine, Peter and Andrew Mascari; great-grandmother of Noah and Chloe Earhart, Carter Barnett-Woods, Luke, Camille, and Kolton Roman. She was the sister of Barbara B. Capdepon and the late Elise B. Munch, the late Audrey Bourg, and the late Doris B. Creger.
She was a ’53 graduate of Rabouin High School, and is also survived by her lifelong friend and classmate Joan Croall Livaccari. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives from Chalmette and Baton Rouge, members of the St. Bernard Club (people displaced all over Louisiana by Hurricane Katrina), friends at St. Thomas More in Baton Rouge, and residents of Williamsburg Senior Living.
She spent her life deeply devoted to her family and her faith. A special thanks to Our House for Respite in Baton Rouge where she spent the last 16 months receiving excellent care by Ms. Verly and her staff.
Services to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 Virtue St, Chalmette, LA, on April 25, 2025, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. followed by a Catholic Burial Mass at noon. Interment will follow immediately at St. Bernard Gardens.
