Carolin B. Grass passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late William F. and Gladys Brown. Carolin grew up with one sister, the late Diana B. Knowles, and survived by her brother-in-law Jim.
In her early years, Carolin married Ernest L. Grass (Bucky) and relocated to Chalmette, Louisiana. This is where she grew her family of three children, mother to Kimberly Johnson (Joey), Fred Grass (Lisa), and Connie Boudro (late husband Brian).
She was a beloved grandmother to the late Erica Grass, Lindsey Tassin (husband Troy), Gregory Boudro (wife Sophia), and great-grandmother to Emma and Ellie.
She had one sister-in-law, Janice Perria.
Carolin was survived by many cousins and friends, both near and far. She was an aunt to one niece, two nephews, several great nieces, and great nephews. She was also an aunt to the late Tracy Perria.
After earning her G.E.D., Carolin enjoyed a fulfilling career in the medical field until her retirement. In her leisure time, she found joy in gardening, walking, bowling, and playing softball.
In 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, she and Bucky (who later passed in 2008) evacuated to St. Petersburg, Florida, and remained living near Connie and her family. In her time in Florida, she spent many evenings walking her puppies, Ginger and Bella, throughout the neighborhood, where she quickly developed friendships over the past 20 years.
Carolin's legacy will live on through her children carrying on her memory and traditions. She will be fondly remembered for her passion for watching football with her two sons-in-law, cooking fried chicken and potato salad for family gatherings, and the pride she took in her talented grandchildren.
Connie and the family wish to extend their sincere gratitude to everyone who provided care and support to Carolin during her final years. We especially appreciate the work of Empath Hospice Team for their compassion and support.
Carolin will be laid to her final resting place at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, where the immediate family will hold a private gathering to say their final goodbyes.
