Catherine Sartalamacchia Perez passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the age of 92. She was married to the late Merrill V. Perez for 61 years. Together they founded and ran Better Boxing Company in New Orleans, LA. She leaves behind her sons Errol and Ralph "Guzzie"; their wives, Gloria and Janet. She was "Gee" to her three grandchildren, Troy (Josefina), Raina (E.L.), and Samantha (Joshua) and her four great grandchildren, Troy Isaac, Ethan, Aaron, and Catherine. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Josephine Landry, and preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie and Joe Sartalamacchia. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Special thanks to the staff at Ferncrest Nursing Home for their care over the last 15 years.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2621 Colonial Blvd., Violet, LA on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard, LA.
