Christine Hutchinson Giroir

Christine Hutchinson Giroir passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the age of 89. She was the cherished wife of the late Chuck Giroir. Loving mother of Pat Palmer (the late J. C.), Allan Durant (Jeanneine), Paulette Toves (Edward), Brenda Mixon, Bradley Durant (Gail), Jeannie Bowman and the late Samuel “Dickie” Durant, Shirley Durant, Nancy Durant and Peggy Calder. Daughter of the late Samuel and Emma Hutchinson. Sister of Opal Lovell and the late Merdes, Samuel, Alice Mae, Cookie, Jessie Hutchinson and her dear twin brothers. Proud grandmother of Rusty Fabre, Scott Durant, Shannon Vicaro, Tiffany Giluso, Jimmy Mixon, Hollie Cooper, Mary Forest, Joseph Toves, Phillip Toves, Monique Cheatam, Crystal Brignac, Jacob Brignac, J. C. Calder, Scott Adair, Alexandria Durant, Jolie Durant, Jason Lizana, Andrew Allain and Montana Bowman. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 20+ great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched. She was well loved, and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to many, who loved to dance, never lost her grit, and treasured her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend an evening visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, March 6th from 6:00PM – 9:00PM and again on Saturday morning from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a celebration of her life beginning at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
