Dean Edward Carlisle, age 72, passed away on Thursday May 23, 2024. He was a native to Picayune, MS but resided in St. Bernard for many years. Dean lived a life full of joy, love, and adventure. A proud Navy veteran, Dean served his country with honor and dedication. His stories of his time in the service, filled with humor and heart, were a cherished part of family gatherings.
Dean was an avid Saints football fan. His cheers and jeers were a familiar soundtrack to Sunday afternoons. When he was not rooting for his team, Dean could be found on the golf course, enjoying time with his friends, or out on the water, fishing rod in hand. His passion for fishing was surpassed only by his love for his family and his wife’s amazing cooking. Patsy’s meals were the highlight of his day, and he often said he was the luckiest man alive to enjoy such feasts.
Movies and old-time rock-n-roll were two of Dean’s great loves. He spent many evenings watching classic films or listening to the tunes of his youth, often with his family by his side. As an avid storyteller, Dean had a knack for turning the simplest event into an epic tale, captivating all who listened.
Dean’s greatest joy was his family. He was the life of every gathering, his infectious laughter and warm spirit filling the room. Dean is survived by his children Sabrina Carlisle, Edwin Crespo III (Linda), Perry Crespo Sr., and Heath Crespo (Andrea); his siblings Donna Carlisle Lutenbacher (Keith), Chuck Carlisle, Donna Watts (Edmond), Debbie Pollitz (George), and Randy Mitchell (Debbie); his grandchildren De’anna Powell (Joshua), Elizabeth Robinson, Carri Hutcheson (Joe), Molly Crespo, Edwin Crespo IV, Chelsey Crespo, and Perry Crespo Jr.; great-grandchildren Addilee Powell, Elijah Powell, Thomas Dean Powell, Colton Crespo, Blayse Senia, and Jaken Hutcheson; his step-mother Beatrice Carlisle; his brother-in-law Gary Hatch; and his many nieces and nephews.
Dean is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Carlisle; his parents Thomas Carlisle and Dorothy Russell (Tim); and his sister JoAnn Hatch. He also leaves behind a legacy of service, love for live, and devotion to family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to Veteran Affairs.
