Diane Craven Forte, age 79, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, December 19, 2020, while hospitalized in Hammond, Louisiana. Born December 21, 1941 in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Robert Craven and Leona Scarantino and stepdaughter of Sgt. Joseph Graci. Diane was a faithful, loving and devoted wife to her husband, Joseph Forte, Sr., of 61 years, and their love set a lasting example for their children and grandchildren. She dedicated her life to her children, Susan, Johanna, Joe, Jr., and Darrin, fostering a unique relationship with each as their best friend, confidant, support and foundation. Her love and selflessness extended to all those close to her family, her door always open, and no one felt like a stranger in her home. Outside of her husband and her own children, Diane’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Similar to her own mother, Diane had a way of making each grandchild and great grandchild feel uniquely loved and special. Diane is survived by her children and their spouses, Susan Weir and Paul Weir, Johanna Glorioso, Joseph Forte, Jr. and Michelle Marcotte Forte, and Darrin Forte and Aimee Meyer Forte, her siblings, Guy Graci and Robert “Dookie” Craven, her grandchildren, Amanda Weir, Michael Glorioso, Jodi Forte, Aubrey Williams, and Sophia Forte, her great grandchildren, Alayah Williams, David Williams, Alexia Williams, and her nephews, Barry Graci and Eric Graci. A private memorial service will be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, December 28, 2020. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
