Donald David Plaisance

Donald (Don) David Plaisance passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the age of 91. He was born in New Orleans, LA on August 4, 1931, was a resident of St. Bernard Parish and later moved to Slidell, LA. He was the loving husband of the late Lola M. Theriot Plaisance. Proud father to Wanda Hoffmann (the late Brian), Janet Asher (Eric), Vicki McDaniel (Mitchell) and Glenn Plaisance (Denise). Caring grandfather to Donald Hoffmann, Jamie Hernandez (Jose), Deanna Hoffmann (Chad), Jodi Asher (Andy), Denielle Keller (Jimmy), Jared McDaniel (Ashley), Eric Michael Asher, Rebecca Plaisance (John) and Alyce Plaisance; great grandfather to Molli Keller, Adelyn Keller, Autumn Keller, Libby Keller, Peyton McDaniel, Harper McDaniel, Lola Bowman and Archie Gray. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elson Plaisance Sr. and Ovelia Pizanie Plaisance and his siblings, Elsie Delhomer, Elson Plaisance Jr., Gerald Plaisance and Shiela Abadie

Donald was a proud member of the United States Marines Corp and worked at Kaiser Aluminum for over 32 years. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, wood worker and all around handyman. He loved to make golf clubs and go to the casino not to win but make donations. Spending time with family especially his grandchildren and great grands was his greatest joy. He will be deeply missed by us all but his memory will live forever in our hearts.

All those whose lives Donald has touched are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS. T
