

Dorothy “Dotty” Mae Purvis Boudreaux Bordelon passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the age of 76. She is survived by her husband Richard Bordelon; son Dwayne Boudreaux and his wife Gwen; daughter Penelope Unsworth and her husband Owen; sister of Vicky Stephens and the late Frederick Purvis Jr. Proud grandmother of Bradley Boudreaux, Amy White, Mandy White and Wade White. Great grandmother of Faith and Lexie Boudreaux; stepmother of Jeff Bordelon and Chris Bordelon; step grandmother of Colin Bordelon, Molly Unsworth and Tyler Unsworth. She was the wife of the late Earl Lawrence Boudreaux for over 38 years before his death in 1997. Dotty was born on April 29, 1940 in El Dorado Arkansas, the daughter of the late Frederick and Jewell Purvis. She moved to Louisiana at a young age and lived in Arabi, LA for many years and also the Lakeview area of New Orleans, LA prior to moving to Mandeville, LA. Dotty worked at PRMMI and Sealand. She was a realtor for Prudential Real Estate, and an executive assistant for Wink Engineering until her retirement. Dotty was a very active person who loved life and her family. She enjoyed tennis, golfing, sailing, gardening and travelling with friends and family. She was a very beautiful and classy lady both physically and in spirit. Dotty will be forever remembered and dearly missed by all that had the pleasure to meet her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
