Edward Herbert Russell Jr.

Edward H. Russell Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the age of 78. His final days were embraced by the warmth of those he cherished most. He was the beloved husband of the late Sonja Russell. Son of the late Doris Russell and Edward H. Russell Sr. Loving father of Starrla Naquin (Kye), Honey Fiasconaro (Frank), Crystal Retif (Steve), Edward W. Russell (Tina) and the late Edward H. Russell III. Brother of Sharon Calcagno. Proud grandfather of Beau Naquin, Damien Fiasconaro, Zane Fiasconaro, Lucien Fiasconaro, Season Fiasconaro, Quinn Fiasconaro, Liberty Retif and Timothy Retif. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many cousins, relatives and dear friends.

Born in New Orleans, LA, Eddie spent much of his life in St. Bernard Parish before making his home in Pearl River. To those who knew and loved him, he was simply “Eddie” or “Eddie Boy”—names spoken with warmth, familiarity, and deep affection.

Eddie found joy in caring for those around him. He had a deep loyalty to his family, a loving spirit, easy laughter, and the joy he found in his grandchildren will remain some of the most treasured parts of our memory.

He never sought recognition or attention. Eddie didn’t need the world to see him to make a difference. To his family, he was more than any title could ever capture. He was a devoted son, a steadfast brother, a father who guided with quiet strength and love, and a grandfather who gave his whole heart without hesitation. His presence had a way of making life feel fuller, warmer, and more meaningful. Though he will be missed beyond measure, Eddie will continue to live on in every heart he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, April 15th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a celebration of Eddie’s life beginning at 1:00PM.
