Edwin L. Lohr

Edwin “Sarge” L. Lohr passed away at his home on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the age of 89. He was the cherished husband of Jeannette Lohr for 61 years. Loving father of Janet Lohr and Ronald Lohr (Darlene). Son of the late Edwin and Josephine Olsen Lohr. Brother of Lawrence “Larry” Lohr (Patricia). Proud grandfather of Chantel Lohr Griffin (Steven), Connie Lohr Ogle (Gary) and Casey Lohr Hano (Bob). Great grandfather of Hailee Griffin, Johnathon Hunt, Jackson Ogle and Mia Hano. Uncle of Brenda Bell, Linda Lachin and Larry Lohr Jr.

Edwin proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, United States Air Force and retired from the United States Army with the rank of Master Sergant after 35 years of service. He received the Silver Beaver Award, the highest adult award in scouting. Edwin played the clarinet and saxophone, he had a love and passion for music. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Edwin will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Edwin L. Lohr.
