Francis “Mickey” Lawrence Reilly, IV entered heaven on Friday, June 5, 2020. The lifelong St. Bernard resident always put his family first and was an incredibly selfless man, who greeted everyone with a smile. He was the devoted husband of Frances “Frannie” Canino. During their 45 years together, Mickey and Frannie shared a lifetime of laughs and wonderful memories. The other light in Mickey’s life was his son, Brent. Mickey and Brent were not only hunting and fishing partners, they were best friends. They enjoyed spending time outdoors together, whether it was on a boat, in a duck blind, or boiling seafood. Mickey also adored his other hunting and fishing buddy, his grandson Liam, as well as his granddaughter and princess, Ella. Mickey’s greatest joy was watching Liam and Ella grow. The proud paw-paw never missed a baseball game, dance revue, or school function. Mickey supported his family in everything they did and loved his daughter-in-law, Amanda, dearly. He had an impeccable work ethic during his many years at Textron Marine, then G & D Machine Shop where he retired in 2018. “Big Mick” was a devoted co-worker and a generous friend to so many. He was the loving son of Jean Rose Reilly and the late Francis “Jake” Reilly, III. Beloved brother of Scarlet R. Quinton (John), Timmy Reilly (Donna), and Kelly R. Jennings (Troy). Godfather of Timmy Reilly and Cullen Jennings and uncle of Bailey Jennings. Cherished son-in-law of the late Benny and Frances Canino. Sister-in-law of Anna Piazza (Emile). Godson to Chuck and Olga Cocchiara. Mickey is also fondly remembered and loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and great friends. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2330 Paris Road, Chalmette, 70043 on Friday, June 19, 2020, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM followed by a funeral mass in his honor at 11:30 AM.
