Helen was born and raised in Kosciusko Mississippi, lived some time in New Orleans and came to call Arabi home for past 60 years. She was a remarkable woman known for selfless ways and her love for her family. Helen found joy in the simple pleasures of life like times at the casino trying her luck, playing a game of Chinese checkers, watching her favorite western (cowboy) movies, game shows or soaps and just sitting on the porch with her husband. But her true happiness, came from spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren. She cherished the moments when the family would gather for holidays or birthdays, weekends or just when they would stop by in the mornings or evenings. She loved to make pallets for her grandchildren to sleep on or sandwiches for their snacks while caring for them after school, during the summer or when they would stop in to visit. “Maw Maw” had an incredible unique bond with each of her grandchildren that will live within each one of them forever. Though she has left us, Helen leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and joy. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
