Irwin Lawrence Aucoin Jr.

Irwin L. Aucoin Jr, 61, of Loranger, LA, passed away on November 19, 2022 in Chalmette, LA. Irwin is survived by Cynthia, his wife of 31 years; his children, Glen Aubrey Jr. (wife, Yvonne) and Jessica Ciaccio (husband, Harold); his grandchildren, Kevin Ciaccio, Alexis Ciaccio, Nicole Ciaccio, Aesia Kardos (husband, CJ), Whitney Cochuyt (husband, Justin) and Jon Mans (wife, Samantha); great grandchildren, Jackson, Erica and Jayde; his father, Irwin “Lou” Aucoin Sr.; his sisters, Charlene Gonzales (husband, Simon) and Shelia Cancienne (husband Eddie); nieces and nephews Craig, Stacey, Christopher, Steven, Shana, Stephanie, David and Dana; and 14 great nieces and nephews.

Irwin is preceded in death by his mother, the late Antoinette “Toni” Aucoin. Irwin was born in New Orleans, LA, to Irwin “Lou” and Antoinette “Toni” on October 17, 1961. He graduated from Chalmette High School and The University of New Orleans. He was an Accountant, CPA and Controller, working for car dealerships for the majority of his career.

Irwin was an avid Saints fan, holding season tickets for 40 years. He belonged to the Endymion organization for 20 years during which time he made many long-lasting friends. He enjoyed bowling for recreational leagues for years. He coached little league football for several years sharing his love of the game with young players. Cruising, travelling and spending time with family were among his favorite things to do. “Pap,” “Unc,” and “Uncle” are among the names given to him. He was a very special man to all who loved him, but especially to his nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He would go above and beyond and do anything he could and attend as many sporting events and parties as possible. He will be missed and remembered dearly.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A memorial service will be held in Irwin’s memory at 1:00 PM.
