Jeffrey Paul Latham, a resident of Chalmette, LA, age 67, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. He was born on Sunday, February 16, 1958, at Camp Leroy Johnson, New Orleans, LA, to Cecil M. “Jack” Latham and Carlene Joy Hardy Latham. Jeff moved to Arabi with his mother and 2 siblings in 1963. He attended Arabi and St. Claude Heights elementary schools before entering Holy Cross for his high school education. Most of his working years were on offshore boats, an occupation that tends to be both a love it and hate it job, but he enjoyed the solitude of being on the water. At one time he was an avid bowler. Usually a quiet man, he watched podcasts and documentaries, was interested in current events and sports and enjoyed discussing these topics. Jeff was not born in St. Bernard, but became a Parish guy as he grew older, and never called any other place home.
Jeffrey leaves behind his mother, Carlene Joy Lee, Thibodaux, LA, a brother, Patrick M. Latham (Kerry), Minneapolis, MN, two nieces, Maurirose Jager (Henry), Arnold, MD, Julene Latham, MN and three great nieces, Alice Jager, Marykate Jager, and Josie Jager. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil M. “Jack” Latham and his sister, Kathleen “George” Latham. Jeffrey also leaves behind special friends Ray James, his wife Faye, Cheryl Downey and many other friends and longtime acquaintances. He was a loving and loyal son and brother and will be greatly missed. Interment will be at a later date in St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens.
