

Jesse Resendez Sr. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren on Friday, March 7, 2025 at the age of 68. A man whose heart was as expansive as his spirit, Jesse's life was marked by unwavering love, sacrifice, and an enduring commitment to those he cherished.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Yvonne Constant Resendez, with whom he shared a deep, unbreakable bond. Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories. Jesse was the proud and loving father of Melissa Palmer (James), Jesse Jr. (Courtney), Regina Johnson (Aaron), and Justin Sr. (Ashli), whose lives were shaped by his gentle guidance and steadfast support. Brother-in-law of Andrew Constant and Patty Constant. Proud and loving grandfather of Alexis, Allie, Justin, Keegan, Alivia, Zoe, Bella, and Rainey, who were the light of his life. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jesse was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 18, 1956, and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. His life was marked by service and sacrifice, both to his country and his family. A proud US Army Veteran, Jesse earned the National Defense Service Medal in recognition of his dedication and commitment during his time of service. After his career as a bus mechanic, where he worked for 40 years, Jesse retired in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity.
Though he retired from his professional career, Jesse’s passion for life never dimmed. He found great joy in spending time with his loved ones, especially his dear wife, Yvonne, as they embarked on over 40 cruises together, exploring the world hand-in-hand. Whether it was fishing with his sons or vacationing with his daughters, Jesse reveled in creating unforgettable memories with those he held dear. His love for adventure and exploration was matched only by his boundless love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his cherished mother, Doris Silcio Resendez, and her beloved twin brother, Uncle Bubba, who was not only his family but a father figure he admired and adored. He was also preceded in death by his late brother, Frank Resendez Jr., and his cherished in-laws, Geraldine and Sidney Constant, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond of love and respect. Brother-in-law Sidney Constant Sr. and sisters-in-law Darlene Leonardi and Pam Constant.
His spirit, filled with warmth, kindness, and an unshakable devotion to family, will live on forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
