Jimmie Carl Newman Jr., beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the age of 72. Cherished husband of 51 years to Carol Sierra. Loving father of Letitia Newman Grayson (Larry), Leah Newman Vinsanau (Michael) and David Carl Newman (Bridget). Proud grandfather of Eric Michael Grayson (Ciara), Jonathan Michael Grayson, Davyn Carl Newman, Nicholas Carl Newman, Madison Elizabeth Newman, Michelle Leigh Vinsanau, Michael Louis Vinsanau Jr. and his late grandpuppy Cullen. Son of the late Jimmie Carl Newman Sr. and Goldie Gondran Newman. Brother of Larry Wayne Newman (Linda), Donna Kay Cassagne (Lance) and Steven Eric Newman (Lynn).
Jimmie was born on October 14, 1943 in Magnolia, MS. He was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and a current resident of Carriere, MS. Jimmie retired from Chalmette Oil Refinery – Exxon Mobil after 32 years of service. He will be forever remembered and deeply loved by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will be private.
