Joycelyn Melinie Boyer

Joycelyn Melinie Boyer passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to her late husband Kenneth Donald Boyer Sr. Loving mother of the late Kenneth D. Boyer Jr. (Lynn), and Keith Edward Boyer (Shelly). Proud grandmother of Kati Hannan (Shaun), Keisha Barras (Justin), Danette Harris, and the late Kenneth P. Boyer. Great grandmother of Jason McQuary Jr., Rori Hannan, Bailei Hannan, Rustin Barras, Reiss Barras, Blaine Harris, and Deacon Boyer. Nieces of whom became more like sisters to her, Charlotte Rodriguez, Penny Forbes, Debbie Sylvera, and remembered by additional nieces and nephews. Daughter to the late Wallace Melinie Sr., Annie Richard Melinie. The youngest sister to Wallace Melinie Jr., Mildred Weber, Ulysse Melinie, Ivan Melinie, and Paul Melinie. Joyce was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she enjoyed being a lifelong homemaker and had a passion for caretaking. She will be remembered for the dedication and nurturing care she showed and the unconditional love she had for her family. She enjoyed a pastime of cooking for her family, fishing, listening to music, and going to the casino with her late husband.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
