Judy "Juju" Scaglione passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the age of 70. She was the cherished wife of the late Mike Scaglione. Loving mother of Michael Scaglione (Hayley). Proud grandmother of Ava Scaglione and Lilly Scaglione. Daughter of Yvonne Spicuzza and the late Raymond Spicuzza, Sr. Sister of Eileen Depreo (Eido “Sonny” Depreo) and Raymond Spicuzza, Jr. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Judy was born in New Orleans and was a proud, longtime resident of Chalmette, LA. She built her life on the values of love, service and devotion to her family. As a mother and grandmother, nothing mattered more to her than the people she loved. Her family was always her first priority and she spent her life selflessly putting their needs before her own.
She was our pillar of strength - steady, dependable and endlessly giving. She was “the caretaker” not just in title, but in spirit. Whether through a comforting word, a warm meal, or simply her steady presence, she made those around her feel safe and deeply loved.
Judy’s faith was an important part of her life. It guided her decisions, shaped her kindness, and gave her strength through every season. She lived her beliefs quietly but faithfully, reflecting grace, compassion and gratitude in the way she treated others.
Judy’s life was also rich with friendship and community. Her circle of close friends brought her great joy and she cherished the laughter and connection they shared. She was an active member of countless clubs and generously gave her time to charitable causes, including the Children’s Wish Endowment and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Serving others was never an obligation for her; it was simply who she was.
She lived with intentional happiness, humility, and gratitude. She found joy in everyday moments and carried herself with a quiet grace that drew people to her. She was well loved and affectionately known for her gentle spirit, good nature and generous heart. Her pride in her children and grandchildren radiated from her. You could see it in her eyes, feel it in her hugs, and hear it in the way she spoke their names. Her love did not require grand gestures or elaborate words, it was constant, and unmistakable. Judy’s impact lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. This world is better because she was in it and we are better because she loved us.
