June Nuschler Picou

June Roselyn Nuschler Picou, March 25, 1937 - September 30, 2023. Passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of the late Elmo Donald Picou. Loving mother of Donald Picou Sr. (Patricia), Keith Picou (Cheryl) and Karen Guidry (RJ). Proud grandmother of Donald Picou Jr. (Megan), Megan Gonzales (Ryan), Bryan Picou (Brittany), Keith Picou (Amelia), Kailie Guidry (Kenny). Great grandmother of Olivia & Victoria Picou, Benjamin & Isabel Gonzales and Esther & Jayce Picou.

She was also preceded in death by her parents John Joseph Nuschler & Eunice Earhart Nuschler, along with her sister Carolyn "Puddin'" Nuschler.

June was a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA and worked for IMG (Internal Medicine Group) for many years. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cared deeply for others and will always be remembered for her dedication to her family. She was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be deeply missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Mass. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
