Kenneth David Martinez Sr.

Kenneth “Kenny” Martinez Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia “Pat” J. Martinez for 51 years. Loving father of Raquel M. Sandrock (Kevin) and the late Kenneth Martinez Jr. Son of the late Hazel Rivet Martinez and Freddie Martinez Sr. Brother of the late Freddie Martinez Jr. and Marion Beckendorf. Proud grandfather of Tristan Sandrock (Rachel), Rene Sandrock (Cori) and Alyssa Belgiovine (Terrell). Great grandfather of Eliza Sandrock, Everly Sandrock and Callie Wingerter. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, godchildren and close friends.

Kenny was born on October 22, 1946 in New Orleans, LA. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a Production Superintendent with ExxonMobil. Known for his curious mind and skillful hands, Kenny had a passion for tinkering, fixing, and building - especially when it came to his collection of diecast cars. His deep understanding of mechanics and construction made him not only a talented builder but also a well-respected contractor in his community.

In his younger years, Kenny could often be found riding his Harley and frequently traveling with Pat. When at home, he found joy in life’s quieter moments - whether working on puzzles like crosswords and Sudoku or simply taking pleasure in the details of everyday life. Kenny also had a deep appreciation for beautiful sports cars - not for racing, but simply to admire their design and craftsmanship. Over the years, he owned several Corvettes and a Jaguar. It was hard to say which one he loved most.

Kenny was known for his good nature, generous heart, and deep devotion to his family and friends. He was a wonderful example of how to live with integrity, compassion and dry sense of humor. His presence will be deeply missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, May 16th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00AM. Kenny will be laid to eternal rest in a private ceremony.
