Lana Martha Ford, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Vietnam and lived a full life traveling all over the world. Wherever she lived, she was never without her flowers, fruit trees, birds, and aquariums. She was a petite woman, but a force of nature that carried her through both wars and disasters. She will be remembered for her generosity and loving strength. She is survived by her son John and her daughter Gwen and predeceased by her husband Ret. Major John N. Ford.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 9:00AM – 4:00PM, and a visitation on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Lana will be laid to eternal rest privately at a later date.
